Frequently asked questions
If yours isn't here, call 703-442-0403.
no question is too small. we've heard them all.
How do I get started?
Register through the client portal, then we'll call to set up a meet-and-greet. Your sitter comes to your home, meets your pets, walks through the routine and takes notes before the first paid visit. The consultation is $22.
What animals do you care for?
Dogs, cats, birds, fish and most crated pets — hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, rabbits. If you have something more unusual, call us and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
Do you board pets?
No. Every visit happens in your home. We don't run a kennel and we never transport your pet.
Will I have the same sitter each time?
That's the goal, and it's how most of our clients work with us. When your regular sitter is away, we'll introduce the substitute in advance whenever we can.
How do I know a visit happened?
You get a note and photos through the client portal after every visit, including arrival time.
Can you give my pet medication?
Yes — oral medication, injections and subcutaneous fluids, including insulin and seizure medication. Simple administration is $5 per medication; injections and fluids are $12.
How do you handle my keys?
We keep them coded, never labeled with your name or address. Key pick-up or drop-off is $22; many clients use a lockbox or door code instead.
What's your cancellation policy?
Visits cancelled after 6 pm the day before service are not refunded. Requests made with less than 24 hours' notice carry a $10 last-minute fee per visit.
Are there holiday surcharges?
Yes — $10 per day for vacation visits and $20 per day for overnights. Call us for the specific dates.
Are you insured?
Licensed, bonded and insured. Proof available on request.
Do you serve my address?
See our service areas page. If you're near the edge of an area, call and we'll give you a straight answer.
